Where Knowledge
Finds Its Voice

We’re excited to welcome students throughout their school years to our programmes at Julia Gabriel Centre, New Bahru — equipping them with the knowledge and skills to excel in school and beyond.

A Strong Foundation.
A Confident Expression.

With over three decades of expertise, Julia Gabriel Centre empowers children and teens to think clearly, write effectively, and speak with confidence — now at New Bahru.

For more than 35 years, Julia Gabriel has been synonymous with excellence in English enrichment.

Generations of children have grown with us — building strong foundations in literacy, developing clarity of thought, and discovering the confidence to express themselves with purpose.

At our New Bahru centre, we continue this legacy through our Readers & Writers and Drama & Communication programmes for students in primary and secondary schools.

Our Programmes at New Bahru

Readers & Writers Programme

Think N’ Ink

(Primary 1 – Primary 6)

Strong writing begins with strong understanding. Think N’ Ink develops essential literacy skills through guided reading, structured writing, and thoughtful discussion. Our Think N’ Ink programme aligns with the MOE’s English Language curriculum, adequately preparing students for the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE).

Students learn to:

  • Interpret and analyse texts
  • Organise ideas coherently
  • Expand vocabulary with precision
  • Write with clarity and fluency
  • Express original ideas with confidence

Rather than relying solely on formulaic techniques, students build a deep foundation in comprehension and written expression — supporting long-term academic growth.

Drama & Communication Programme

Speech & Drama

(Kindergarten 1 and 2)

In the early years, confidence in speaking shapes a child’s willingness to participate and learn.

Through poems, stories, movement, and dramatic exploration, children develop:

  • Expressive language
  • Listening skills
  • Social awareness
  • Emotional confidence
  • Audience engagement

Learning is purposeful and experiential, encouraging children to communicate naturally and confidently.

Speech Communication Arts

(Primary 1 – Primary 6)

As academic expectations increase, so does the importance of clear articulation. All our Speech Communication Arts students will work towards a group graded examination in Communication Skills with Trinity College, London.

This programme guides students to:

  • Present ideas in a structured manner
  • Speak with clarity and projection
  • Respond thoughtfully in discussion
  • Engage an audience with confidence
  • Develop poise in formal and informal settings

Students strengthen not only their oral examination skills, but their overall presence and communication maturity.

Communication & Presentation Skills

(Teens)

For teenagers, communication becomes increasingly important — in school, leadership roles, interviews, and beyond. All our students in this programme will work towards an individual graded examination in Communication Skills with Trinity College, London.

This programme develops:

  • Logical organisation of ideas
  • Persuasive speaking techniques
  • Confidence in presentations
  • Critical thinking in discussion
  • Composure under pressure

Knowledge gains impact when it is communicated effectively.
