I joined Julia Gabriel Centre after I graduated from Beijing Dance Academy in 2002.
Because of my knowledge and specialty in Music and Drama, I’m involved in the curriculum design and development of our Chinese Cultural Arts programme.

I enjoy singing, dancing and listening to music. I appreciate all forms of art. I have a deep passion for theatre, both watching and performing. Working at Julia Gabriel Centre for Learning provides me with a platform to share my passion for music and drama with children.

Zhang Wen 张文
• Teacher • Diploma in Early Childhood Education from Qing Dao Arts School in 1989

I had 11 years teaching experience in China before coming to Singapore. I’ve been teaching in Julia Gabriel Centre for Learning since 2000.

I love playing the piano, listening to music and painting. I love to go on holidays with my family too. I love all my PlayNursery children. I feel so happy when they start to speak more Mandarin and take their initiative to communicate with me by using the phrases and words they’ve learnt in class. I’m fully motivated by my students’ achievements in learning Mandarin.

Zhang Ping 张萍
• Teacher • Diploma in Early Childhood Education from Tianjin Normal School for Kindergarten Teachers, 1996

I taught for seven years in a kindergarten in Tianjin, China, before joining Julia Gabriel Centre for Learning in 2004.

I like reading and travelling. I also enjoy listening to music and watching movies. “Read thousands of books, travel thousands of miles” is a Chinese saying which expresses my two wishes.

Zhang Yuan Yuan
• Teacher • Diploma in Early Childhood Education from Beijing Dongcheng District Vocational Training School, 1999.

I taught in Beijing Golden Cradle kindergarten before joining Julia Gabriel Centre in 2005.

The most joy I get as an early childhood teacher is being part of children’s learning journeys in the early stages. At the end of each teaching day, I always review what I’ve done and how I can do better for the next class and make my lessons more interesting. I believe that working with children is a real and honest endeavor. I enjoy each child and hope that I can help them to cultivate an interest in learning Mandarin through my teaching.
