Courses and Examinations in Speech Communication Art, Speech and Drama, Communication and Presentation Skills

Trinity Guildhall is an integration of two illustrious traditions of assessment in performance art: Trinity College London and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, owned by the Corporation of London. Committed to encouraging high standards of human interaction, performance and education, Trinity Guildhall's examination syllabus provides structure for learning and international validation of standards of attainment for teachers, performers, speakers and students of communication skills and performance arts.

Training and Preparation

Julia Gabriel School of Education is a Trinity Guildhall examination centre, offering small group classes leading to Trinity Guildhall graded examination, certificates and diplomas in performance, presentation, communication and teaching. Interested candidates are invited to apply for a Trinity Guildhall syllabus from Julia Gabriel School of Education, outlining the wide range of classes and examinations available.

Trinity Guildhall Foundation Teaching Certificate, CertTCL (FT)

Teachers who have already completed the Julia Gabriel Foundation Teaching Certificate may go straight on to the Trinity Guildhall Foundation Teaching Certificate (Speech & Drama) as the first step in international qualifications. The CertTCL (FT) recognises ability to teach children to Level 3 Speech Communication Arts, or up to 8. Exam requirements are explained, and practical work is undertaken and critiqued by a senior trainer so that trainees understand the standards required and are able to work individually and in small groups to develop their practical and written programmes for examination.

Grade Examinations

Teachers opting for further studies to more advance level proceed on to grade examinations in Speech and Drama, followed by an Associate Teacher's Diploma in Speech and Drama (ATCL), and Diploma in Teaching Speech and Drama (LTCL)

What People Say About Us

“Being a student of JG SOE was life-changing. I was thoroughly enriched by the energy, enthusiasm and dedication of the teachers and lecturers. I experienced firsthand the meaning of 'the joy of learning'. The lecturers saw us as individuals and not as a class. When they couldn't praise, they encouraged. Making mistakes were 'learning moments'. When they could, they affirmed us and made us feel really good about ourselves and gave us the confidence we needed to go out there and impart that same inspiration to our students. The experience is really unforgettable!”

I really miss being a student there!
